A1.The Miller was a
happy-go-lucky person.He was hardworking,affectionate and loveable.He
never compared his possessions with those of other people.As a result
he was never envied by anyone.

A2.He is called 'the miller of
the Dee' because he lived near river Dee and earned his livelihood as
a miller with the blessings and help of the river.
Q3.
A3.The poet compares him to a
lark because he always sang happily like a lark.

A4.The miller thought that he
led a very simple life and was contended with what he had.He had no
reason to envy anyone, and he thought nobody envied him too.

A5.The king asked the miller the
secret of being so carefree and happy.

A6. The miller was carefree and
happy because he was honest and worked hard to earn his bread. He did
not owe any money to anyone. He never complained about anything and
was grateful to the river for helping him turn his mill.

miller by saying that men like him were the pride of England.

miller.
b)The speaker is the king ,
enjoys all the comforts and power. Yet he is not as happy as the
miller.

a)The king who is the speaker of
this line was very pleased with the miller and remarked that the
dirty cap of the miller was better than his crown and his mill was
better than his kingdom.
b)No,the speaker did not always
think like that. The miller frankly told him that he envied none nor
did anyone envy him.He also told him that he loved his wife and
children and was never in debt. After being convinced of the miller's
claims through his explanation the king changed his opinion.

Studied this poem nearly 75 years ago in my school days. Since then read the poem whenever I remember. Not tired of reading over and again. One should live like the Miller if the See.
